SOCIAL SERVICE AND EMPOWERMENT

We fund creative projects or programs of direct service organizations which serve and empower citizens. We prioritize this type of funding for organizations primarily serving low-income families in Fairfield County. These programs should have long-lasting, measurable impacts. We also seek organizations working on alliance-building, as well as cooperation and coordination among agencies to avoid duplication of effort.

Our Social Service and Empowerment funding prioritizes:

  • Improving mental and physical health through education and clinical services,

  • Creating after-school programs which build individual academic knowledge and life skills, including:
    • Expanding Literacy,
    • Creating Artistic Experiences through hands-on and multicultural activities,
    • Promoting Environmental Education.

  • Supporting healthy families through programs which improve parenting skills and empower families to work toward self sufficiency.
