Council on Foundations DC Conference
Sheila Perrin, President, Julia Murphy Klein, Program Associate, and Nancy Holland, Grants Manager attended the May 2008 Council on Foundations Summit in Washington DC. Focusing on Leadership, Partnership and Impact, the multiple workshops and plenary speeches gave the attendees a fresh look at philanthropy’s future on a global level.
Program Associate Julia Klein attended conferences led by the next generation of youth leaders in philanthropy. There were powerful, media documented examples of social changes young people are creating within the political and environmental arenas on the national and local levels. One recurrent message was, in order for communities to have long term success with social change, you need to have young people's input included as valued stakeholders.
